African Proverb – If I’m In Harmony With My Family, That’s Success

Birds sing not because they have the answers but because they have songs.

It is the crooked wood that shows the best sculptor.

Be a mountain or lean on one

An orphaned calf licks its own back.

A spider’s cobweb isn’t only it’s sleeping spring but also it’s food trap.

Even the lion, the king of the forest protects himself from the flies.

If you are looking for a fly in your food, it means that you are full.

Do a good deed and throw it into the sea.

A large chair does not make a king.

African proverbs

The first proverb reminds me of how powerful songs can be. Amidst war, difficulty or fear, people have sung to remain calm and stay positive.

When we don’t have the answers, we should sing like birds. It might look so out of place but we know that worry solves nothing. The best way to get it off our heads is to key into our favourite tune.
