Take it with a grain of salt – American proverb. Meaning: You shouldn’t take what someone does or says too seriously. (assuming someone boasts or tells a lie)
There are two kinds of perfect people: those who are dead and those who are yet to be born. – Chinese Proverb.
Meaning: No one is perfect.
Those who drink to drown their sorrows should be told that sorrow can swim. – African Proverb.
Meaning: Applying the wrong solution to a problem can make it worse.
It’s only when you have crossed a river can you say that a crocodile has a lump in his snout. – African Proverb
Meaning: You can’t talk about what you don’t know anything about.
Don’t miss all the beautiful colours of rainbow looking for a pot of gold. – Irish Proverb.

  1. For the Irish proverb I understand to Mean ” we shouldn’t be to focused on getting a particular thing that we forget to enjoy or appreciate the one we have or the ones around us”. Like for example, we shouldn’t be too focused on what we can have tomorrow that we forget to enjoy the present that is available.


  2. I’m guessing the Irish one means while we focus on the cherished or valued aspects of our lives(our goals), we should also try to embrace the other beautiful moments that come along with it, and not miss the wowness in our now.

    Though I am not Irish, I think that it means that one should accomodate the opinion of others as well as theirs ( or look things from different angles) to get the pefect solution.
