The Realities Of 2020

A year of fright, of humiliation, of despair

A year of insanity, of adversities, of terrible losses

A year of assault, of battered hopes, of crushed faiths

A year of insecurity, of hideaways, of distrust

A year of zero antidotes to a monstrous quandary

A year of sharing, of caring, of love

A year of survival, of self-discovery, of hopeless hope.

A year of family togetherness and  creativity

A year we won’t forget in a flash!

We learned. Yes, we learned, 2020!

We learned;

To never take anything or anyone for granted

To run when we should run and hide when we should hide

It’s possible to pass a day without a meal or a tantalising one

Forced social distancing and isolation does not hurt as bad as losing a life.

How to stick with family 24/7

How to make masks

How to cook, draw, write and many more

How to stay calm in a horrifying situation

Bigger Lessons

Planning is an important life tool

How to economise

Our lives lie in our carefulness and our determination to protect it.

Following safety measures is as important as life itself.

Without God’s interventions, man is finished!

I so much believe that 2021 isn’t going to end this way.

There are times when no one can save you when there will be no solution. At that time you are left with nothing but the end. As the end closes in, all you have to do is run. Runaway from the end. Run before the end. At that time faith is a powerful tool.

I'm a food scientist who has chosen the path of creative writing- the one thing which comes to me naturally.
Back in 2013, my love for teaching young learners propelled me into picking teaching as a career. I taught English, Maths and Science in the United Arab Emirates where I lived for ten years. Right now, I live in Coal City, a beautiful hilly area of my country Nigeria.
My website Fiez-writer is a product of my extreme desire to share my writing with the world. Here, I share fiction, poems, thoughts and writing tips.
A huge part of my life is spent with my lovely family and I'm a proud mother to three brilliant kids.
